Photoblog: Lyon, France
On Saturday after breakfast, we went for a little walk around downtown Mornant with the twins, and then back to the family house where we somehow packed all of us into 2 cars and off we went to see the big city!
We walked all over downtown Lyon, stopped for a short visit to the Cathedrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste, and a view of the Basilique above us.
Next stop was for crepes from a cute little crepe stand in the street packed with people walking around the shops and restaurants. After our snack, we wandered the crowded streets a little more before settling on a traditional French restaurant for lunch.
Once we’d wined & dined, we took a ride on the Funicular up the steep mountainside to La Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviére, had some ice cream, and enjoyed the great view over the city below.
We decided to walk back down the mountain and toward the end of the sloping streets we stopped for a rest in a grassy park with some ruins before wandering the fancy shopping area with all the pricey stores.
After that, we wandered back through some of the small sheets full of old French buildings and back to the car and we headed back ‘home’ to Mornant.
Everyone seemed to want to do something different for dinner that night, so we split into smaller groups to find a meal. A & J & the twins, Tricia, & I decided on pizza & pasta again a few blocks from the center of Mornant.
